How to Change Your Arma 3 Server Name

Your Arma 3 server name is what players see in the in-game server browser. You can update it at any time by editing the server.cfg file in your Game Control Panel. While you are there, you may also want to add a password or disable BattlEye.

Steps

  1. Log into your Game Control Panel.
  2. Stop your server if it is currently running.
  3. Click Configuration Files, then open either the Text Editor or Config Editor for the server.cfg file.
  4. Locate the hostname = setting and change the value between the quotation marks to your desired server name.
  5. Click Save.

  6. Start your server. The new name will appear in the server browser once it is online.

Tip: Keep your server name concise and descriptive so it is easy for players to find in the browser.
