How to Add Admins on Your ARK Server

Admin access on your ARK: Survival Evolved server works as a whitelist of Steam64 IDs in the AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt file. Anyone listed there can run admin commands without entering the password each time. Once they are added, our guide on ARK admin commands covers what they can do.

Before you start: You need each admin's Steam64 ID, not their username. Look it up with a Steam ID finder before you begin.

Add an admin

  1. Log into the game panel and open your ARK service.
  2. Open the Configuration Files module.
  3. Open AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt in the Text Editor.
  4. Enter each Steam64 ID on its own line:
76561198000000001
76561198000000002
76561198000000003
  1. Save the file and restart the server to apply.

Note: This admin list is separate from the join whitelist. To restrict who can connect at all, see how to enable the whitelist.
