How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your 7 Days to Die Server

Updated June 10, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Scheduled restarts keep your 7 Days to Die server running smoothly by clearing memory and applying any queued updates automatically. The game panel's Scheduled Tasks feature handles this without any third-party tools. You can also update your server's name as covered in changing your server name.

Steps

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click New at the top of the section, then choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart.
  4. Click New directly below that section to create a new task.
  5. Give the task a descriptive name and make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
  6. Set the type to Daily to restart at the same time every day.
  7. Set the start date and time. This is the time the restart runs each day.

Note: The panel uses the server's time zone, not your local time. Check the panel time zone settings if the restart fires at an unexpected hour.

  8. To repeat the restart multiple times per day (for example, every 6 hours), expand Advanced Options, enable Repeat Task, and set the interval.
  9. Click Save.
