How breeding works in Palworld

Every Pal has a hidden stat called breeding power. When two Pals breed, the game averages the parents' breeding power and the egg hatches into the species whose own value is closest to that average:

offspring power = floor((parent₁ + parent₂ + 1) ÷ 2)

Lower breeding power means rarer offspring, which is why pairing two strong Pals tends to produce another strong one. On top of the formula, the game hard-codes a set of special combinations that override the math. That's how unique subspecies like Relaxaurus Lux or Grizzbolt are bred.

This calculator doesn't approximate any of this: its results are generated directly from the game's data files, so every special case (legendaries, subspecies, even the one gender-dependent pairing) matches the live game exactly.

Special breeding combos

These Pals ignore the breeding power formula: each one can only be bred from the specific parent pairing below (or by breeding two of the same Pal).

Self-breed-only Pals

Legendary and event Pals can't be produced by mixing other species. The only way to get an egg is to pair two of them.
