How to Upload a World Save to Your Valheim Server
You can run an existing singleplayer world on your Valheim server by uploading its save files. World saves consist of two files: a .fwl file and a .db file, both sharing the same name as the world.
Locate your local world files
On Windows, world saves are stored at:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds
Identify the .fwl and .db files for the world you want to use, for example dedicated.fwl and dedicated.db.
Upload the save files
- Stop your server in the Game Control Panel.
- Use the File Manager or an FTP client to navigate to the
worlds_localfolder on the server. If the folder does not exist, create it. - Upload both the
.fwland.dbfiles into theworlds_localfolder. - In the control panel, click the Command Line Manager button.
- Click Select on the "Default" command line.
- Set the World Name field to match the name of your uploaded world files, without the extension. For example, if the files are
dedicated.fwlanddedicated.db, set the world name todedicated. - Save and select the command line, then start the server.
The server will load your uploaded world on the next start. To roll back to a previous save later, see Restore Backup.
