Set Up RustAdmin for Remote Server Administration

RustAdmin is a free desktop application that connects to your Rust server over WebRCON and lets you manage players, run commands, and monitor activity remotely. Before you start, make sure you are an admin on your server (see Make Yourself Admin).

Download RustAdmin

Download RustAdmin from rustadmin.com and install it on your computer.

Set your RCON password

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel.
  2. Click Configuration Files.
  3. Open server.cfg using the Config Editor.
  4. Locate the RCon Password field and set a strong password.
  5. Save the config and restart your server.

Configure RustAdmin

  1. Open RustAdmin.
  2. Go to the Configuration section.
  3. Ensure the connection type is set to WebRcon.
  4. Enter your server IP, game port, RCON port, and the RCON password you set in the previous step.
  5. Click Connect.

RustAdmin will connect to your server and you can begin managing it remotely.
