Reset Your Minecraft Server to Default

Published 9 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Resetting your server deletes all files including worlds, mods, plugins, and backups and returns it to a clean state. Use this when you want to start fresh or switch to a different server type.

Warning: This action cannot be undone. Download any world or config backups you want to keep via FTP before proceeding.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Minecraft panel and open your server.
  2. Click Stop to stop the server.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click Files, then Setup.
Multicraft Files and Setup menu options in the left-hand navigation
  4. From the Template dropdown, select Clear Mod directories and Plugins.
  5. Enable the Delete All Server Files option.
  6. Enter your Minecraft panel password in the Password field.
  7. Click Apply.
Delete All Server Files option enabled with Password field and Apply button

The next time the server starts, all files will be deleted including any backups. The server will generate a fresh set of default files on first start.

Note: After resetting, select your desired server type (Vanilla, Forge, Fabric, etc.) in the JAR File dropdown before starting. See our guide on connecting via FTP if you need to re-upload a modpack or world.
