How to Change Your DayZ Server Name

Your server name (hostname) is what players see in the DayZ in-game server browser. You can change it at any time through the Configuration Files section in the Game Control Panel. See also Set a server password if you want to restrict access at the same time.

Steps

Step 1: Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your DayZ service.

Step 2: Stop your server if it is running.

Step 3: Click Configuration Files, then click Text Editor next to serverDZ_By_HostHavoc.cfg.

Step 4: Locate the following line:

hostname = "DayZ Server by HostHavoc.com"; // Server name

Step 5: Replace DayZ Server by HostHavoc.com with your desired server name.

Step 6: Click Save, then start your server.

Tip: Including tags like [1PP], [Modded], or [PvE] in your hostname helps players find servers that match their play style in the browser.
