Minecraft Circle Generator

Minecraft has no round block, so a circle is square blocks arranged to track a real circle as closely as the grid allows. Set a diameter up to 500 above, then copy the highlighted pattern row by row. The dashed guides mark the centre lines, so you build outward from the middle.

Pick thin for decorative rings and tower walls, where a one-block line is enough. Pick thick when you'll walk the top of the wall or want a chunkier ring. Pick filled for solid shapes: floors, lily pads, ponds and the base layer of a dome.

Click the link icon between the width & height fields to unlock them, then set any pair from 1 to 500 blocks per axis. A 200×80 ellipse plots the same way as a circle.

The counter above the canvas shows how many blocks the current pattern needs, so you can stock up before you place anything. A thin 50-wide outline is 140 blocks. Fill it and the same circle is 1,976.

Every block is a square, so a circle only reads as round once it spans enough of them. Under a diameter of about 9 it's mostly corners. Then, by 15 it starts to look circular, and past 30 the steps are small enough to disappear from a distance.

A dome or sphere is a stack of circles whose diameter shrinks towards the top. Plot the side profile as one tall circle first, read each layer's width off it, then generate a circle per layer and stack them. For a sphere, the widest layer sits at the middle, not the base.
