How to Connect to Your SCUM Server

  • 0

This guide will walk you through the steps to connect to your SCUM server hosted with Host Havoc.

Important Note on Ports: For SCUM servers, the client connection port is always 2 higher than the port defined in your server's command line or configuration. For example, if your server is configured to start with 192.168.1.100:7000, players will need to connect using IP:7002.

Finding Your Server's Connection Information

  1. Log in to your Host Havoc game panel.
  2. Navigate to your SCUM server.
  3. On the main server dashboard, you will find your IP Address and the Port your server is configured to use listed as "Connection Info".

Connecting to Your SCUM Server
There are two primary methods to connect to your SCUM server:

Method 1: Direct Connect via In-Game Browser

This is the most reliable method for direct connections.

  1. Launch SCUM from your Steam library.

  2. Once in the main menu, click on Multiplay.

  3. In the Multiplay section, there is an IP input box on the left-hand side. Here, input the defined game port + 2 (as explained in the "Important Note on Ports" above):

Example: If your server IP is 192.168.1.100 and your configured port is 7000, you would type:

    192.168.1.100:7002

  4. Press Enter. You should now connect to your server.

Method 2: Using the In-Game Server Browser (Less Reliable for Direct Connect)

While you can try to find your server through the in-game browser, direct connect is often more consistent.

  1. Launch SCUM from your Steam library.

  2. From the main menu, click on "Play".

  3. Select "Multiplayer".

  4. You can try searching for your server by name in the server browser. If your server has a password, ensure you have it ready.

  5. If you find your server, select it and click "Join".

Note: Due to the nature of server browser lists, your server might not always appear immediately, especially if it's new or not heavily populated yet. Using the direct connect method (Method 1) is generally recommended.

If you encounter any issues connecting to your server, please ensure:

  • Your server is showing as "Running" in your Host Havoc game panel.
  • You are using the correct connection port (configured port + 2).

If you continue to experience difficulties, please contact Host Havoc support for further assistance.
