This article will detail the steps needed to resolve a specific error on your Rust server.

If you have a brand new Rust server with us here at Host Havoc, you may encounter an error after first starting it and trying to connect. If the error reads as such, this article may be helpful:

Disconnected: Exception (cs: 73433): NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
AdaptMeshToTerrain.Adapt()

If you are encountering this issue, it is almost certainly because you have not configured your server yet, which means no map has been selected. The server cannot run without a map selected.

Follow these steps below to rectify this issue:

Step 1: Naviagate to your main game panel area. This is the same place you can start, stop or restart your server.

Step 2: Stop your server.

Step 3: Navigate to "Configuration Files" and open "server.cfg" by clicking the "Config Editor" button.

Step 4: Make all the desired changes to your config! Make sure to change your level/map settings at the bottom, including the seed and size.

Finally: Once you are done making changes, click "Save & Exit", and restart your server!
