In this article, we'll outline the steps to install mods to your 7 Days to Die server hosted by Host Havoc.
Before taking the steps below, please make sure your service is stopped.
Where to find mods?
Some mods such as Darkness Falls can be located in the "Non-Workshop Mods" area in the Game Panel where you can click Install on the mod you want to have. If the mods you want are not available in that area we recommend using 7daystodiemods or NexusMods and following the rest of this guide.
Create a Mods Folder
The Mods folder is already created in the main directory of the server in a folder called "Mods".
Unzip the Files
Extract the mod that was downloaded earlier to a location that is easily reachable on your PC.
Then choose the correct folder you need to use. The correct folder contains the “ModInfo.xml” file. For example:
\Downloads\ExampleModFolder1\ExampleModFolder2\ExampleModFolder3\ModInfo.xml
The correct folder is “ExampleModFolder3”.
Upload the Mod Files to Your Mods Folder
Copy the “ExampleModFolder3” folder and paste it into the “Mods” folder via FTP
You've now successfully modded your 7 Days to Die server.
Important: Some mods require different installation methods. When installing such mods, consider the instructions of the mod authors.
