About American Truck Simulator: Convoy multiplayer across the US
American Truck Simulator is SCS Software's trucking sim set in the United States. The base game covers California, Nevada and Arizona, map DLCs add more states, and you haul freight in licensed trucks from brands like Kenworth and Peterbilt. Convoy mode lets up to 8 drivers share one session. Running it on a dedicated server keeps that session online 24/7 with no player acting as host, so your group can join and leave on their own schedule.
Mods through server packages
The official SCS dedicated server never downloads content itself. You activate mods in your own game, run export_server_packages from the console, and upload the resulting server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat files through the control panel. Every driver who joins needs the same mods, and Steam Workshop mods can be subscribed to from the in-game overlay when you connect.
Session rules in server_config.sii
Lobby name, password, welcome message, AI traffic, player damage, the forced speed limiter and your moderator list all live in server_config.sii, which you can edit from the Host Havoc control panel. Add a Steam game server login token and your server keeps the same search ID across restarts.

Without Host Havoc
The manual way: self-hosting
SCS Software's official Convoy dedicated server runs natively on Windows and Linux. It is light, so 2 cores and 2 to 3 GB of RAM are enough for 8 drivers, and no GPU is needed. You also need your own copy of American Truck Simulator to export the map and mod data.
- Download the server with SteamCMD using the anonymous login and Steam App ID

server_config.sii. The server writes it on first launch. Setlobby_name,password,max_players(8 at most), andmoderator_listwith Steam64 IDs. Add aserver_logon_tokencreated for the game's App ID270880, not the server's, so your search ID survives restarts. - Forward TCP and UDP
27015and27016. The server does no NAT punching, so without forwarding it won't appear in the Convoy browser. - Keep it running. Run
bin\win_x64\amtrucks_server.exeas a service on Windows, orbin/linux_x64/amtrucks_serverin screen/tmux on Linux (linksteamclient.sofirst).
After that it is on you: SteamCMD won't auto-update the server, so you patch after every SCS release, re-export packages when your mods or map DLCs change, restart after crashes, and absorb DDoS yourself.
