Enshrouded 1.0: Release Date, What's New, and What It Means for Your Server

by Rafael S.

Enshrouded leaves early access on Thursday, October 15, 2026, launching as version 1.0 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and NVIDIA GeForce Now. The Xbox Series X|S version has been pushed to spring 2027 while Keen Games gets the game's large-scale building and terraforming systems running smoothly on Xbox hardware.

If you run an Enshrouded server, here's the short version: no server wipe has been announced (though every character's skill tree resets at 1.0), your server will need the 1.0 update on launch day (automatic or manual — your choice), and the player count on your server is about to matter a lot more. Below, we break down what's confirmed, what's still open, and how to get your server ready.

What's new in 1.0

Keen Games has been building toward this release across two years of early-access content updates, and 1.0 is a genuine content drop rather than just a version-number change. Confirmed by Keen's own 1.0 previews:

  • Nine new spells for mages — Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, plus four summons (Fire, Ice, and Shock Totems, and a Hollow Skeleton) — the biggest expansion yet for magic builds.
  • Eternal spells reworked: they no longer consume spell ammo, there are 22 tier-7 Eternal versions, and they can now be upgraded with unique perks.
  • Wand combat overhauled: heavy attacks pierce enemies and interrupt weaker attacks, two new wand skills (Aerial Wand Attack, Wand Evasion Attack), and a better soft/hard-lock targeting system.
  • New archer skills (Puncture, Barrage, Survival Instinct), new Eternal arrows (Fire, Shock, Bone — upgradeable), and aim-assist options.
  • Level cap raised to 50, equipment up to 55, new enemy variants across all factions — and everyone's skill tree is reset at 1.0 ("hopefully for the last time," in Keen's words), so expect your community to spend launch night respeccing.
  • Performance improvements across the board, including for lower and mid-range systems — and for multiplayer, 1.0 is expected to further improve full 16-player sessions.

PS5 players and dedicated servers

Enshrouded landing on PS5 is the single biggest change for multiplayer communities, but PS5 players won't be able to join dedicated servers at the 1.0 launch. Keen Games is working on dedicated server support for PS5 in a future update.

For now, dedicated servers (including Host Havoc's) are for PC players on Steam. We've seen this story before: when survival games open dedicated servers to console players, server demand jumps, because a hosted server becomes the easiest way for mixed PC/console groups to share a persistent world. If Keen adds PS5 support, expect Enshrouded's multiplayer scene to grow fast. We'll update this post the moment it's announced.

What 1.0 means for your server

No wipe (so far) — but skill trees reset. Keen hasn't announced any server or save wipe for 1.0: your world and bases should carry over. What is confirmed is a full skill-tree reset for every character, so your players keep their worlds but respec from scratch. As always, we'd still take a fresh backup before launch day — a two-minute job in the panel that turns any surprise into a non-event.

Your server needs the 1.0 update on October 15. Servers can take the update automatically, or you can trigger it manually if your community wants to coordinate the switch — for example, finishing a session on the old version before updating. On Host Havoc servers, updates are handled from the control panel either way.

Plan your slots. With 1.0's multiplayer performance improvements and a wave of new and returning players, launch week is the right time to make sure your slot count matches your community. Enshrouded supports up to 16 players per server, and you can adjust slots on an existing Host Havoc server without starting over.

Expect launch-week traffic. Day-one patches and a flood of new players are normal for a 1.0. Our support team averages under 10 minutes per ticket response, so if anything behaves oddly after the update, we're around 24/7.

Getting a server ready before launch

If you're starting fresh for 1.0 — a new community, or a friend group getting the band back together — the sensible order of operations is:

  1. Pick your region. We host Enshrouded in 14 locations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific; choose the one closest to the majority of your players.
  2. Size your slots. Four slots for a tight co-op group, 16 for a community server. You can scale later.
  3. Set it up before the 15th. A server that's already configured and backed up means launch night is spent playing, not troubleshooting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Enshrouded 1.0 wipe my server?

No wipe has been announced for 1.0. Existing worlds and saves are expected to carry over. We still recommend taking a manual backup before the October 15 update, just in case a launch-day hotfix changes anything.

Will my character be reset at 1.0?

Partly. Keen Games has confirmed that every character's skill tree is reset at 1.0 so players can respec into the reworked skills — but your character, inventory, and world carry over.

Do I need to update my server for 1.0?

Yes. On October 15 your server needs the 1.0 build to accept connections from updated game clients. Host Havoc servers can update automatically, or you can trigger the update manually from the control panel if you want to time it yourself.

Can PS5 players join a dedicated Enshrouded server?

Not at launch. PS5 players won't be able to join dedicated servers when 1.0 releases on October 15, 2026. Keen Games is working on it for a future update. Until then, dedicated servers, including Host Havoc's Enshrouded servers, are for PC players. We'll update this post as soon as PS5 support is announced.
