About Enshrouded: survival, crafting and voxel building for up to 16 players
Enshrouded is a co-op survival action RPG from Keen Games, set in Embervale, a world covered by a deadly fog called the Shroud. You gather resources, craft gear and build bases block by block in a fully voxel-based world, then push into the Shroud for better loot. Enshrouded 1.0 left Early Access on October 15, 2026. A dedicated server keeps your group's world online 24/7, so anyone can log in and keep building without waiting for the host. Host Havoc runs Enshrouded servers in 14 locations, including Sydney for groups in Australia and New Zealand.
Ready for Enshrouded 1.0
1.0 does not wipe worlds. The first time 1.0 loads an older save, the game backs it up and converts it to the new save format automatically. Skill trees reset on that first load, so players respend their points. To update, click Update Server in the game control panel, then start your server.
Steam/PC servers with full config access
Host Havoc Enshrouded servers are for Steam/PC players. There is no PC and PS5 crossplay at launch, and an Xbox Series X|S version is planned for spring 2027. Choose from 4 to 16 player slots, set a password and user groups with their own permissions in enshrouded_server.json, and download world backups over FTP. Every server includes DDoS protection and 24/7 support.

The manual way: self-hosting
Enshrouded ships a Windows-only dedicated server tool. The bottleneck is RAM: budget about 16 GB (32 GB for full groups), a quad-core CPU, no GPU, on a box that stays on 24/7. On Linux there is no native build, so you run it through Wine or Proton.
- On Linux, install Wine or Proton first; on Windows you are ready to go.
- Download the server with SteamCMD using the dedicated-server App ID:
steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 2278520 validate +quit
- Launch the server once to generate enshrouded_server.json, then edit the key fields: name, password, slotCount (max 16), gamePort, queryPort, and saveDirectory.
- Forward UDP 15636 (game) and UDP 15637 (query) on your router and firewall.
- Keep it running: a Windows service, or screen/tmux on Linux.
After that it is on you: patching every game update, world-save backups, restarting after crashes, and absorbing DDoS attacks.
