7 Days to Die Asylum Mod Update 2.5.3: Brings EFTX Ammo and New POIs

von Jolynne M.

The Asylum Overhaul Mod for 7 Days to Die is a full survival horror overhaul that transforms the vanilla experience into something darker, tougher, and far more intense. With custom enemies, handcrafted POIs, expanded progression systems, and a heavy focus on atmosphere, it has become a favorite for players looking for a serious challenge.

What’s New in Asylum Mod Update 2.5.3

Before jumping in, there is one critical thing every player and server owner needs to know.

Critical: Fresh Save Required

Update 2.5.3 requires a brand-new save game.
Existing saves are not compatible with this update.

This update introduces the EFTX ammunition system, which fundamentally changes how ammo works in the game. Because of this, servers must be wiped and restarted to ensure stability and proper functionality.

These locations:

  • Offer fresh exploration opportunities
  • Fit seamlessly into The Asylum’s dark tone
  • Add new points of interest for scavenging and questing

Huge thanks go to Fizzlewitz for creating and contributing these vaults to the mod.

New Custom Mobs

Quality of Life Improvements

Several quality-of-life updates arrive in 2.5.3, making everyday survival smoother.

Blood Lust Vision Fix

A new helmet mod is now available that removes the blurry vision effect caused by the Blood Lust buff.

  • Available at all traders
  • Keeps the buff’s power without disorienting visuals

Helmet lights now repair themselves automatically.
